  • Do you want an investment that will outperform GOLD?
  • Do you want independence from fossil fuels?
  • Do you use hot water every day?

  1. Your water heater is the #2 consumer of energy in your home.  Air-
    conditioning is #1.
  2. Replacing your gas or electric heater will save you around $75,000 over
    the life of the system.
  3. You will spend $3 or $4 on a solar PV system for every $1 you spend on
a solar water heater to get the SAME ENERGY SAVING.
  4. A solar water heater is the smart investment.

Hot water is a necessity.  You can pay the utility or you can purchase a solar
water heater system.  Either way, you are going to pay to heat water.  The
only question is, "How Much?"
Nothing beats solar!

Solar Tech installs the highest efficiency, longest lasting systems that require
the least amount of maintenance.  The typical system costs between $7,800
and $8,500 installed and is designed to last for 30 years.  You get 30% back
from the Federal Government in the from of a tax credit.  The only reason you
don't see solar water heaters all over Alabama is people don't know.  You do.
What are you waiting for?

If the sun shines on your property, you may qualify for a solar water heater.
The sooner you get your solar water heater, the sooner you will start saving.

We recommend the same technology for your business that we recommend for your home.  The typical commercial system is larger than
your home system, but it functions exactly the same.  Evacuated tubes are suitable in applications that require water temperatures above
160 degrees.

On larger commercial systems, we usually install real-time data collection so that your hot water system can be monitored via the internet.
This allows you to track the system, make corrections, and identify problems quickly so that you get maximum performance from your
system.  Yes, Solar Tech Alabama can provide some monitoring for you.

Restaurants, car washes, and any other commercial or industrial process that uses hot water can benefit from solar.  Call and let us show
you how you can increase your profits by letting the sun heat your water.
Commercial Solar Water Heating
A solar water heater will save you $26,311 in 20 years if the following is true:

  1. You install it today.
  2. This number is based on the total cost of ownership between an
electric and a solar water heater over the next 20 years.
  3. The solar water heater provides 80% of your demand.  This will likely
    be 85% or more.
  4. You currently use about $35 worth of electricity per month to heat water.
  5. Current cost of electricity is 12 cents per kWh including taxes.  Check
    your bill.
  6. Cost of electricity increases 2% per year.  Over the past 53 years, the
average annual rate was 5.03%.  The rate for the 12 month period
ending Aug 2011 was 18.97%.  Source taken from http://forecastchart.
    com/inflation-usa-energy.html
  7. Your combined state and federal income tax rate is 10% and stays that
    way.  You wish!

But, you say, "The inflation rate of energy has been over twice that and my
income tax rate is higher.  In all probability, both are likely to be much higher
over the next 20 years.  Additionally, I t
hink we are using more than $35 a
month to heat water
."

I know.  But I want to make my projections very conservative.  (I did not even
include the cost of replacing the electric water heater and the average life of
one in Alabama is around 12 years.)  Do your research.  Perform your own
calculations.  You will find that the savings is likely to be higher.  Much higher.

Want to see my numbers?  Send me an email and I'll send you my
spreadsheet.  If you are a numbers person, you can figure this out.

So, how do you feel knowing that you will spend $30,000 more than
necessary in the next 20 years for hot water?  Owning a solar water heater
does not require any habit changes - so there is only one reason NOT to own
one.  If the sun shines on your property,
